When the Lerner Group bought the Washington Nationals, they made one thing clear to Jim Bowden and Frank Robinson. “We aren’t afraid to spend money to build a winning team.”
“We could use some more depth in the bullpen,” Robinson said.
“But what I really need is a skinny white guy in the dug out. When teams come to play at RFK, I want them to look across the diamond and see him glaring back at them. That will show them that we mean business.”
